About us

Bag Maglierie was established in 2002, following up on an innovative idea and in collaboration with Shima Seiki, the Japanese brand leader in the manufacturing of knitting machines.
From the very beginning we started to develop weaving programs and to create prototypes and samples for the best Italian fashion and luxury brands.
We thus started our collaborations with numerous internationally renowned stylists and with the styling departments of prestigious high fashion and luxury brands such as Prada, Hermes, Tom Ford, Marni, Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney, Armani, Versace, Ferragamo and many others.
The attention to the final product and the innovative research for the weaving process have gradually become our company main strengths, allowing us to grow adding step-by-step new machines for fine yarns weaving such as cashmere, silk and cashmere silk.
Over the years, important collaborations became stronger, and we specialized in the thin and ultralight weaving of fine yarns from well-known suppliers like Cariaggi, Loro Piana, Botto Poala and Zegna.
After years of experience and collaborations with the best Umbrian master craftsmen, we have further improved the production process by offering the highest quality manufacturing and products, thanks to advanced technology machines and valuable manual skills of our machine operators.
The pursuit of innovative solutions continues still today in Bag Maglierie, by introducing the newest machines that use sophisticated digital knitwear printing systems.
Manual skills and craftsmanship are the essential elements of our work. Since the very beginning we have been carrying out our work in full compliance with our corporate core values.
Creativity, reliability, attention to details, competence and passion are the basis of each manufacturing phase.
The activity takes place in our two premises of:
- San Nicolò, which hosts our weaving lab with 24 Shima knitting units.
- Pontenuovo, which is our digital printing site equipped also with garment washing and ironing stations.
Our team comprises technical knitwear consultants, computerized knitting machine programmers, knitting machine operators, and workers in charge of washing, fulling, ironing and packaging. Our staff includes also commercial, marketing and communication consultants.
